Your controls should stay yours.
This page describes how TapTiller is designed to handle information.
Last updated: May 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how TapTiller handles information when you use the iPhone app, the Mac companion app, the support website, and any related support channels. TapTiller is designed around local control: your iPhone and Mac pair on the same local network so your phone can act as a control surface for the Mac.
Summary
TapTiller does not require a user account for the website. The app is designed to use local network pairing between your own devices. TapTiller does not sell personal data. Information you choose to submit through support email or the embedded Google Form is used to respond to your request and improve the app.
Information used by the app
TapTiller may use device and configuration information needed to provide its features. This can include nearby peer names shown during local pairing, the name of the Mac or iPhone you choose to connect, app names from your Mac app catalog, app bundle identifiers, app paths, app icons, website tile names and URLs, shortcut tile names, keyboard shortcut settings, window action settings, media control settings, page layout settings, tile colors, Home accessory selections, Home room names, Home category names, and connection status information.
Local network pairing
The app is intended to pair devices on the same Wi-Fi or local network. When pairing, the Mac companion app can display a short code, and the iPhone app asks you to enter that code. This helps confirm that the person pairing the iPhone can see the Mac screen. After pairing, the Mac can send the configured control grid to the iPhone, and the iPhone can send selected control commands back to the Mac.
Control commands
When you tap a tile, TapTiller may send a command to the paired Mac. Commands can include opening an app, opening a website, performing a window action such as close, minimize, maximize, or quit, sending a keyboard shortcut, adjusting media playback, changing volume, muting audio, or controlling a selected Home accessory. These commands are part of the app experience and are initiated by your interaction with the control grid.
Home accessory information
If you use Home-related tiles, TapTiller may display available homes, rooms, accessories, accessory categories, supported power states, supported levels, level titles, and similar information needed to let you choose and control compatible accessories. Home accessory information is used to show your selected controls and send the actions you request.
Website tiles and URLs
If you create website tiles, the title and URL you enter may be stored in your app configuration so the tile can open the correct website. You should avoid placing sensitive secrets, private tokens, or personal information inside URLs that you do not want visible in your configuration.
Support email and Google Form
If you contact support at bobbywang0225@gmail.com or submit the embedded Google Form, you may provide your name, email address, device model, iOS version, app version, issue details, screenshots, logs, or other information you choose to include. This information is used to understand your request, reply to you, troubleshoot issues, and improve TapTiller. The Google Form is provided by Google, and your use of it may be subject to Google's own privacy practices.
Website analytics and hosting
The TapTiller website is a static website. Depending on the hosting provider and browser behavior, ordinary technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, referral URL, and timestamps may be processed by hosting infrastructure or security systems. TapTiller does not use this website to require a login.
Data sharing
TapTiller does not sell personal data. Information may be shared only when needed to provide support, operate hosting, comply with law, protect rights and safety, prevent abuse, or process information through services you choose to use, such as Google Forms or email providers.
Data retention
App configuration can remain on your devices until you edit it, disconnect, delete the app, reset app data, or otherwise remove it. Support messages and form submissions may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to respond, keep support records, improve the app, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.
Your choices
You can disconnect paired devices in the app. You can edit or remove apps, websites, shortcuts, Home tiles, custom colors, and pages from your grid. You can choose not to submit the support form and instead contact support by email. You can ask support to delete support messages or form entries associated with your email address, subject to reasonable verification and legal or operational limits.
Security
TapTiller uses local pairing flows to reduce accidental connections, but no app, network, or device setup can be guaranteed perfectly secure. Keep your devices updated, only pair devices you trust, avoid pairing on untrusted networks, and disconnect devices when you no longer want them to communicate.
Children
TapTiller is not intended to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through support channels, contact support so the information can be reviewed and deleted when appropriate.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as TapTiller changes. The updated date will be revised when meaningful changes are made. Continued use of the app or website after an update means the revised policy applies going forward.
