Terms of Use
Use TapTiller thoughtfully.
These terms outline the basic expectations for using the app and website.
Last updated: May 16, 2026
These Terms of Use explain the rules for using TapTiller, the Mac companion app, the website, and related support channels. By using TapTiller, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or website.
What TapTiller does
TapTiller lets an iPhone act as a customizable control surface for a paired Mac. Depending on your configuration, it may open Mac apps, open websites, run keyboard shortcuts, perform window actions, control media playback, adjust volume, mute audio, use shortcut groups, display widgets, and control selected Home accessories.
Device ownership and permission
You may use TapTiller only with devices you own or have clear permission to control. Do not pair with, command, interfere with, or attempt to control another person's device without permission. You are responsible for all actions triggered from your paired iPhone or Mac.
Local network and pairing
TapTiller is intended to work between nearby devices on the same Wi-Fi or local network. Pairing may require a short code shown on the Mac and entered on the iPhone. You are responsible for keeping your local network, Mac, iPhone, and Apple ID secure. Do not pair on networks or with devices you do not trust.
Your control grid
You are responsible for the apps, websites, shortcut commands, Home accessories, colors, pages, and layouts you add to TapTiller. Review custom shortcuts carefully before using them. A single tap can trigger a command on your Mac, so avoid assigning destructive or sensitive actions unless you understand the result.
App, window, keyboard, and media actions
TapTiller commands can affect your Mac and open apps, close windows, minimize windows, maximize windows, quit apps, send keyboard shortcuts, play or pause media, skip tracks, adjust volume, and mute audio. These actions may interrupt work, close unsaved content, change playback, or affect other apps. Use them thoughtfully.
Website tiles
Website tiles open URLs you configure. You are responsible for the websites you add and visit. TapTiller is not responsible for third-party websites, their content, their security, their terms, or their privacy practices.
Home accessory controls
If you use Home-related features, you are responsible for choosing the correct home, room, accessory, and action. Do not use TapTiller as a safety-critical system. Do not rely on TapTiller for emergency, medical, security, life-safety, or critical environmental control. Accessory availability and behavior can depend on Apple Home, device firmware, network status, permissions, and manufacturer support.
Support information
When requesting support, include your device model, iOS version, app version, and issue details. Support is usually answered within 3-5 business days, but response times are not guaranteed. Support may be provided through email or the embedded Google Form.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse TapTiller, bypass pairing protections, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with networks or devices, use the app to harass or harm others, submit abusive support requests, reverse engineer the app except where law allows it, or use the app in a way that violates applicable law or platform rules.
Updates and availability
TapTiller may change over time. Features may be added, changed, paused, or removed. Compatibility can depend on iOS, macOS, device model, local network quality, app permissions, Home configuration, and platform changes from Apple or third parties. The website and support channels may also change.
Intellectual property
The TapTiller name, website design, app design, icons, copy, visual style, and related materials are owned by their respective owner unless otherwise stated. You may not copy, redistribute, or use these materials in a way that suggests endorsement or ownership without permission.
No warranty
TapTiller and the website are provided as-is and as-available. To the fullest extent allowed by law, no warranties are made about reliability, availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, compatibility, or error-free behavior.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, TapTiller's creator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, device issues, network issues, app interruption, accessory behavior, or results caused by commands you configure or trigger.
Third-party services
TapTiller may interact with third-party systems or platform features, including Apple operating systems, Apple Home, websites you open, email providers, Google Forms, hosting providers, and app distribution platforms. Those services are governed by their own terms and policies.
Termination
You can stop using TapTiller at any time by disconnecting paired devices, deleting configurations, or removing the app. Access to support or website resources may be limited if there is abuse, security risk, legal concern, or other misuse.
Changes to these terms
These Terms of Use may be updated as the app evolves. The updated date will be revised when meaningful changes are made. Continued use of TapTiller after changes means you accept the revised terms going forward.
